San Diego was the place to be for up and coming Quarterbacks this May. Steve Clarkson puts on the QB Retreat in Coronado and gives young signal callers the chance to come train with the top college stars and NFL quarterbacks alike, while starting on their path to becoming the next blue chip college recruit.
This year had no lack of talent as the camp counselors included a who’s who of QB trendsetters. The non exhaustive list included:
Wilton Speight (Michigan), Josh Rosen (UCLA), Matt Corral (USC), Tate Martell (Ohio State), Shea Patterson (Ole Miss), Tua Tagovailoa (alabama), Austin Kendall (Oklahoma), Brandon Dawkins (Arizona), Hunter Johnson (Clemson), Jacob Eason (Georgia), Wil Grier (West Virginia), Travis Jonsen (Oregon), Tristan Gebbia (Nebraska), Jake Fromm (Georgia), Jalan Mcclendon (N.C. State), KJ Costello (Stanford), Nick Fitzgerald (Miss State), Nick Starkel (Texas A&M), Sam Ehlinger (Texas) and even Heisman trophy winner Lamar Jackson (Louisville). First Round draft pick Patrick Mahomes also made it to the event to help train and inspire the youngsters that he will be competing with one day.
