301 – Quarterback Workout Plan

How To Improve Any QB’s Strength, Speed & Passing Yardage

shutterstock_228315685Having a solid quarterback workout plan is essential to the success of any QB. But unfortunately, most football teams – at the youth level, high school and even college — do not give their quarterbacks the position-specific training they need.

If you want to learn and implement a quarterback workout plan that produces serious results, then you need the help of a private quarterback camp.

In most cases, ordinary team practice just doesn’t cut it. There is a lot to learn in the quarterback position. While most teams will make their QBs do the same throwing drills over and over, this is only one piece of the puzzle.

To be effective, the workouts must apply a 360-approach that focuses on improving the player’s speed, strength, timing and chemistry, in addition to their throwing accuracy. Only then will a quarterback begin seeing measurable results on the field.

Where To Find The Best Quarterback Workout Plan

A good training camp can be extremely beneficial to a quarterback. QBs will not only build upon their football foundation, but also begin using a quarterback workout plan that is proven to produce results.

Not all camps are as effective as others, however. To identify the best possible program, here’s what to look for as you compare your options:

Focused QB Training

There are no shortage of football training programs across the country. But if you want to see real results, the camp must be dedicated solely to the quarterback position. This should be the absolute bare minimum requirement for selecting a training camp. If it’s not focused on QBs, then keep searching.

Rigorous workout / drill plan

As you’re comparing quarterback camps, ask about the workouts. What kinds of drills are used? What are the goals of the workouts, and how intensive are they? Look for training that incorporates a wide variety of drills and workouts – not just basic passing drills!

Experienced coaches

A training camp is nothing without a good coach. Make sure the program is led by talented coaches who have extensive experience as both QBs and QB coaches, ideally on a professional level.

Recognizable alumni

Have any well-known quarterbacks received their training from the camp? If not, then you should question how effective it is. The top camps will have long lists of recognizable alumni who have gone onto successful careers in the NFL.

Top ratings

See what others are saying about the programs you’re considering. Have any of them been featured by national media? Are they well-respected? Do they have a solid track record of helping QBs of all ages and abilities?
